In 1983, Terry tried to sell a song to BB King, then turned the story into a short film which went on to win the Gold Award at the Houston Int’l Film Fest and the Grand Prize at the very first Around the Coyote Festival in Chicago. Click below to watch
The Trials of Rosie O’Neill
In 1990, Terry’s episode of the CBS-TV series, “The Trials of Rosie O’Neill,” starring Sharon Gless, featured the title character representing a homeless Bluescician who’s song was ripped off by a punk band. Click below to see two pivotal scenes from that show.
Doo Lister’s Blues
Terry’s 1991 play, Doo Lister’s Blues, became the first play by a White playwright to be performed at Chicago’s DuSable Museum of African American History. Focusing on BLM issues and the U.S. government conspiracy to suppress political content in Black pop music of the 1960’s, the play featured many references to legendary Bluesicians, most notably Howlin’ Wolf, Eddie Shaw and Little Milton.
